It is reported to be the largest fine ever imposed by the department.
The act in violation is called as the "Clery Act".
By this law it is required for all the educational institutions to disclose their crime & security records.
It is also reported that the university was under the education department's radar since 2022.
After the violation was notified, the staff has agreed to rectify it as per the department of education's instructions.
